出处:战国·宋·庄周《庄子·徐无鬼》:“郢人垩慢其鼻端,若蝇翼。使匠石斫之。匠石运斤成风,听而斫之,尽垩而鼻不伤。郢人立不失容。”
释义:匠:匠人;石:人名;运:抡;斤:斧子。指木匠石抡斧砍掉郢人鼻尖上的白灰,而没有碰伤郢人的鼻子。形容技艺精湛超群。
英译:In Yingdu, the capital city of the state of Chu, a man put a piece of white plaster(石膏,灰泥)of the size of a fly on top of his own nose, and asked an artisan(工匠) named Shi to back it off with an axe. The artisan brandished the axe with sound of whistling wind, it turned out that the plaster had been knocked down without hurting the man's nose. The Ying man hadn't showed any fear on his face, not even blinkered his eyes.King Songyuanjun heard of this story, and asked the artisan to perform it again. The artisan Shi said, "Yes, I did do that before. But the man who could let me perform that skill died long ago."
故事:传说很久以前有一个技艺很精湛超群的匠人石,他善于使用斧头削东西。一天一个楚国都城郢人干活时鼻子上沾上了一层像苍蝇翅膀那样的白灰,不太好擦掉,就跑去找匠人石。匠人石抡起斧子一阵狂削,白灰掉了,而郢人的鼻子完好无损。
